Small feet tutorial, I carve my feetpaws completely out of foam, allows for more control of size/shape and end up lighter
1. Carve a block of foam in a general feetpaw shape, mark out the hole for the ankle on the top. Cut out the ankle hole (a cylinder) all the way through. Then place the foot template (to your size) on the bottom of the footpaw and trace. Then grab your carving knife and carve into the bottom creating a gap for the foot to be in (like the inside of a shoe)
2. Shows the foot fully carved out and the template
3. Make lining for the inner foot (look at a sock shape and get some ideas) and the bottom of the foot to close it all in is 1” foam
4. Add the lining to the foot bottom then close the two parts together, et voile! You have your basic footpaw construction.
All you’d have to do now is start to carve out the ankle and toe shapes :) (I’ll update with pictures after I finish these) Then re-enforce the seam between the footbottom and the main body of foam with fabric and around the ankle to prevent the foam ripping.
